It has been an exciting and busy time at The Cobblestones. Your word of mouth referrals continue to help us to grow and as we embark on our third year, we have extended our opening hours and number of therapists to enable us to offer you more services.

Many of you will have met Felicity Bertin who joined me as an associate Osteopath and I hope to be able to introduce more of you to her in the coming year.

I am delighted that Simon Duck joined our expanding practice as a Podiatrist and Robyn Morris offering Auricular Acupuncture and Reflexology. Rebecca Cox also continues to work alongside us as an Acupuncturist.

We also welcome Anna Walton as a Psyschological Therapist and Annette Regan as a McTimoney Chiropractor. We are delighted that Penny Upchurch continues to offer Acupuncture and Reflexology and Peter Littlewood Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage Theapy.

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) welcomes new evidence-based guidance on treatment of back pain

Patients will benefit from an innovative new approach to low back pain treatment, according to new guidelines published in 2010 by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Manual therapy, as practised by osteopaths, which includes spinal manipulation, mobilisation and massage, is recommended by NICE to assist clinicians improve the early management of persistent non-specific low back pain. Low back pain: Early management of persistent non-specific low back pain focuses on patients who “have been in pain for longer than six weeks but less than one year, where pain may be linked to structures in the back such as joints, muscles and ligaments”.

“The GOsC welcomes recommendations that will improve patient access to sound, evidence-based care for a health problem that causes 2.5 million people each year to seek help from their GP,” says Evlynne Gilvarry, Chief Executive & Registrar of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), the UK Statutory Regulator of Osteopaths.

“Osteopaths are playing an increasingly central role in tackling this costly and debilitating condition. These recommendations will help health professionals work together to provide each patient with effective care best suited to their needs. NICE has provided the clear and consistent advice much-needed by patients and practitioners.”

We're delighted to welcome registered Osteopath, Felicity Bertin to Cobblestones Complementary Health Centre. Felicity trained at The British School of Osteopathy where she now lectures on the Masters programme in areas of the Neuro-Musculo-Skeletal system. We are very excited to have secured her as one of our colleagues here at Cobblestones and hope she will be very happy here.

New Therapists at The Cobblestones

Hello!

it has been a very busy start to the New Year, although it must seem like a long time ago now. After the chaos the snow caused we have been in full flow and very busy.

I am very pleased to be able to announce that we have two more therapists on our team now and we can offer soft tissue sports and remedial massage, acupuncture, reflexology and indian head massage with our fantastic therapists Peter Littlewood and Penny Upchurch.

They are both very experienced and effective therapists and bookings are taken are available through the main reception number .

We are finally open

I am delighted to be able to tell you that the Cobblestones Complementary Health Centre is finally open. I think the wait has been worth while!
I am making a gradual transition over from my current place of work and will be working full time at the new clinic in the New Year.
There has been a mail out to all the people I have seen in the last three years, of the new details and I hope that they reach their intended recipients, please pass on the word if you know someone who has seen me and hasn't received one.
In the New Year I will post an update to let you know about the other therapists who will be joining me...watch this space.
Finally I am very proud and pleased to be able to tell you that all of the patient seating has been generously provided by Lucus World of Furniture in Aylesbury. It is from the 'stressless' range of specially designed backcare furniture. The have also kindly confirmed that any patient of mine will receive a discount if they wish to purchase anything from the range.

Progress on the Cobblestones Clinic

Greetings friends and clients!
This is a small mention of the progress being made. Some photos will be visible soon of the inside of the clinic which is nearing completion. The marble and limestone flooring has just gone in and the finishing touches to the lovely wood work is happening as we speak.

Keep checking back as we expect to be announcing the opening date very soon!
